The Durgapur International Film Festival at Durgapur was started by Solis Institute of Acting & Arts, Durgapur under the ownership of Debolina Modak Sadhu and Tiyasha Movies, Kolkata under the ownership of Kajari Modak. For the last two consecutive years, this event has gathered a huge popularity Solis Short Film Festival (Durgapur) and at 3rd year it’s become Durgapur International Film Festival then slowly it took an international form.This year at 8th Durgapur International Film Festival 19 more countries including Turkey, UAE, USA, Iran, Afghanistan, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China, Mayanmar, Philippines, Greece, Mexico, Sweeden, UK have also participated. From more than 200 entries , 73 official selections have been screened from 9th October, to 11th October.

The judicial panel of the 8th season is Srimati Shila Datta, Popular Singer Shidharta Shankar Roy (Sidhu),Famous Indian Director Ashok Vishwanathan, National Award winning director Hiren Bora and international dramatist ,cinematographer, writer, director Sabyashachi Biswas.
Full length films, Documentary, Music videos, Short Films from different parts of the world have been screened at this festival for the last 3 days. A total of 30 categories have been awarded, And 55 awards have been given.
All the judges were present at the closing economy of the event.. Many artists and technicians attended the closing ceremony of 8th Durgapur International Film Festival,2023 including Chhanda Chatterjee, Krishna Kishor, Shankar Ghosh, Avrajit Chakraborty , Respected Director Sushil Mazumder’s grand son Sanjay Misra and others. The festival was going on for 3 days at Muktangan, Rashbihari More , Kolkata.
