The Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship And Development (iLEAD) organized a one-of-a-kind celebration this Diwali, transcending boundaries and fostering cross-cultural connections through the ‘Desi Videshi Diwali’ event. Diwali, the festival of lights, has gained global recognition, and iLEAD took a bold step to celebrate it in a way that reflects the rich diversity of cultures around the world.
The ‘Desi Videshi Diwali’ event, held on November 10th 2023, witnessed enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members. The highlight of the celebration was the Rangoli making competition, where vibrant colors and intricate designs merged to create a mesmerizing visual feast. The event also featured drawing competitions, a fashion show, and cosplay segment, all aimed at promoting a harmonious blend of Desi (Indian) and Videshi (foreign) cultures.
What set this event apart was the innovative approach taken by participants in the fashion show, where students showcased cross-cultural ensembles. One standout performance featured a mesmerizing portrayal of Wednesday Addams in a cross-cultural getup, symbolizing the fusion of traditions from different parts of the world. The audience was treated to a spectacular display of creativity and talent, emphasizing the beauty of cultural amalgamation.
The winners were announced at the end of the event, and their outstanding contributions were duly recognized and awarded.
