On 13 August, Apollo Hospital Chennai’s Regional Centre at Kolkata organised a press meet to spread awareness on advanced Neurosurgery and Colorectal surgery. Renowned Neurosurgeon Dr. Hrishikesh Sarkar spoke about Restorative Neurosurgery, Nerve grafting and transfers, Key Hole Surgery Technique. Dr. Venkatesh Munikrishnan, Colorectal Surgeon, spoke about several colorectal complications and corresponding surgical and preventive measures.
Dr Sarkar explained about his innovative key hole neurosurgery procedure which is done through eye lid for precise opening instead of large incision. This also results in minimal tissue disruption with reduced scarring and faster recovery. He opined for early detection drive to save patients from fatal colorectal cancer conditions.
