A cultural recitation session named ‘Karna Kunti Sambad’ had been organized at Kalamandir on 19th May. Eminent elocusion artist Bratati Bandopadhyay along with Ketan Sengupta, Managing Director & CEO of Bengal Peerless recited ‘Karna Kunti Sambad’, a poem penned by Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore.
The conversation between Karna and Kunti is known as “Karna Kunti Sambad,” which means “the dialogue between Karna and Kunti.” The conversation is often cited as an example of the complex familial relationships and moral dilemmas that are portrayed in the Mahabharata epic. Karna visited Kunti to seek her blessings before the upcoming battle of Kurukshetra, not knowing that she was his birth mother. Kunti recognized him and revealed the truth to him, asking him to join the Pandavas, his half-brothers, in the war. Karna refused, stating his loyalty to his friend and ally, Duryodhana, the leader of the Kauravas. It is often cited as an example of the themes of loyalty, duty, and sacrifice that are explored throughout the epic.
“The Karna Kunti Sambad is a powerful example of the moral dilemmas and difficult decisions that are portrayed in the Mahabharata.”, Said Ketan Sengupta, Managing Director & CEO of Bengal Peerless .
“The Karna Kunti Sambad is a powerful reminder that even in the midst of war and conflict, there is still room for compassion, forgiveness, and understanding.”, Said Bratati Bandopadhyay.
